Martin Lewis shows how millions of people can get extra £1,000 per year by doing one simple thing

Money saving expert Martin Lewis has revealed how people can get extra £1,000 per year tax free by just doing one simple thing. He has urged married couples to check their marriage tax allowance entitlement and stressed “millions are missing out” on saving money. Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, he said: “If you are a basic 20 per cent taxpayer and are married or in a civil partnership [...] and you are with somebody who is a non-taxpayer - so simply they don’t earn enough in a year to pay income tax -then the non-taxpayer can give 10 per cent of their personal allowance to the taxpayer so that taxpayer then has more money they earn that isn’t taxed. Here are the Herefordshire school closures confirmed by Herefordshire Council this morning. This list will be updated as closures are announced. Aylestone School Partially closed. Open to only year 8 and year 11 and other invited pupils Broadlands Primary School Partially closed. Open to only invited pupils Earl Mortimer College and Sixth Form Centre Partially closed. The school is open to years 11, 8, and other students by prior arrangement due to strike action. Open to all year groups again tomorrow. Fairfield High School Partially closed. Open for years 10 and 11 only today, Tuesday, May 2. Buses and lunches will run as normal. KS3 should continue with their reading and Dr Frost Maths work or complete any outstanding work from Google Classroom. School will be open as normal for all students tomorrow.
