Notting Hill Carnival stabbing prompts Met Police to issue stop and search order
A young man has been stabbed at Notting Hill Carnival today (Sunday) with 38 arrests made at day one of the event. The Met has also said officers recovered four knives so far. Now, a Section 60 has been authorised for the Carnival area, which is in place up until 2am on Monday morning. This order gives officers greater search powers to prevent violence and the authority to order face coverings to be removed. The victim is in his twenties, with police saying that his injuries are non life-threatening.
