Met Police officer used 'racist and sexist language' in case of 'gross misconduct'

A Met cop would have been sacked if still serving after making racist and sexist remarks. The officer - referred to solely as ‘Mr T’ during his misconduct hearing - served at Little Ilford police station. The panel found that Mr T’s behaviour amounted to gross misconduct after using the P-word as “banter”. It heard that on August 11, 2022, Mr T had said the word ‘Pakistani’ but added a long pause halfway through the word for comedic effect. The remark was made in front of two Met officers who were of Pakistani heritage, in an area with a strong Pakistani community. Mr T tried to wriggle off the accusation by saying he just so happened to take a breath while saying the word.
