Casualty fans were left devastated for Cam Mickelthwaite (Barney Walsh) on Saturday night (August 24) as the BBC drama revealed the sudden death of Jamie Cleveland (Ryan Hawley).
In recent episodes of the medical drama, Cam has been forced to face his past when his former mentor Jamie joined the hospital at Holby. He also reconnected with old friend Bobby, who accused Jamie of sexually abusing him as a child and Cam eventually confessed to Siobhan McKenzie (Melanie Hill) that he too was a victim.
In the latest episode, Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson) and the emergency team responded to a car crash where a vehicle had plummeted down a steep gorge days earlier. Rich Walker (Michael Keogh) found no signs of life from the driver, later identified as Jamie, but Iain managed to find a pulse.
Upon hearing that Jamie was being rushed into the ED, Siobhan warned Cam, advising him to keep his distance. However, Cam insisted on helping and stepped in when Jodie Whyte (Anna Chell) had to leave the emergency room, reports the Mirror.

During one scene, an emotional Cam found himself alone with Jamie and took the opportunity to ask about the incident. Jamie disclosed that Bobby had forced him off the road, a confession overheard by Dylan Keogh (William Beck).
Cam was left shattered after confronting Jamie about his past sexual abuse, seeking answers that never came. Jamie's silence only deepened Cam's pain.
In a heart-wrenching moment, Cam told Jamie he was going to die alone and no one will miss him. Soon after, Jamie's heart stopped and despite the team's best efforts, they couldn't save him, leaving Cam horrified as he watched on.
Casualty viewers were left feeling despair for Cam as he will not be able to seek justice against Jamie following his sudden death.

Jermaine Jenas has apologised to the “women with whom I was messaging” after he was sacked from the BBC. The former Premier League footballer - who played for Tottenham Hotspur,Queens Park Rangers, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Aston Villa - turned Match of the Day pundit, commentator and BBC the One Show presenter has admitted sending inappropriate messages to two women.
Jenas, 41, who has been married to wife Ellie for 13 years said “I am ashamed, and I am deeply sorry,” in an interview with the Sun newspaper. “I have let myself down, my family, friends and colleagues down, and I owe everyone an apology — especially the women with whom I was messaging. I am so, so sorry.
“I am sorry for what I have put them through. I think it would be fair to say I have a problem. I know I self-sabotage and have a self-destructive streak when it comes to my relationship especially, and I know I need help. And I am getting help. I have made a lot of mistakes, and I am asking myself a lot of questions at the moment. I know there’s a lot of work that needs to be done, and it will be hard.”
He began co-presenting a talkSPORT drive-time show with fellow former footballer Jermaine Pennant, moments after it was announced he had been removed from all BBC presenting line-ups on Thursday afternoon (August 22). Jenas told the Sun: “I did nothing illegal — these were inappropriate messages between two consenting adults.”
'Nothing physical ever happened but it was cheating'
But he admitted: “I’m not proud of what I wrote and what I said. And I do consider it cheating, yes, although nothing physical ever happened. This is all on me and I fully accept there is a level of responsibility that needs to be upheld when you’re a member of the BBC.
“And I fell below those standards. I must take the responsibility. I was given an incredible opportunity and I know it’s on me that right now I feel I have lost everything. I feel like people are judging me and that I am the number one target right now in the country.”
'One woman made it clear she was interested'
Jenas told the newspaper: “These were two consenting adults I was speaking to. With one she made it clear she was interested. I don’t want to start going down the ‘who pursued who’ road, but when people are saying things that are wrong and false information is being spread, I do have to kind of defend my space.
“In that particular instance, there was an adult conversation that took place in a bar in London where that person made it very clear that they had an attraction to me. Yes there was alcohol involved but I take full responsibility.
“I feel people don’t know the truth and are forming opinions about me that aren’t accurate. I wasn’t going through some kind of BBC vault trying to get women’s numbers. I’m obviously going to say I’m not a sex pest. These were consenting adults I was texting.”

EastEnders fans were left disgruntled as a beloved character was seemingly 'substituted. ' The BBC One soap made its comeback on Wednesday (August 21), delving into the aftermath of Sonia Fowler's (played by Natalie Cassidy) and Reiss Colwell's (Jonny Freeman) unexpected arrest earlier this week.
As viewers will remember, Reiss tragically ended his wife Debbie's life while she was in a coma a few months ago, amidst his financial woes and escalating debts. However, in a shocking turn of events, Sonia and Reiss found themselves arrested for her murder earlier this week.
This week, Sonia and Reiss faced police questioning. Meanwhile, Sonia's former partner Martin (James Bye) was left in shock, resolved to free Sonia.

He subsequently sought out Phil Mitchell's (Steve McFadden) assistance, pleading with him to help Sonia - a request he agreed to. Later at the police station, Phil kept his promise and arranged for a lawyer to represent Sonia.
But die-hard soap fans were left seething as Phil's regular lawyer Ritchie Scott was replaced by another. Instead of sending their usual lawyer Ritchie (Sian Webber), Phil sent a colleague of hers, reports the Daily Star.
Richie was 'replaced'
Ritchie Scott is a fan favourite and is known as Phil's trusted lawyer who he hires to get him out of sticky situations. The character first graced our screens back in 2005 when she was hired by Peggy Mitchell (Barabara Windsor).
Peggy required the lawyer for Phil's trial for armed robbery. She also provided legal advice to Phil's sister Sam after she was arrested for the murder of Den Watts.
A new lawyer had stepped in
Slight confusion arose among EastEnders fans when a new lawyer appeared on screen, with one irate viewer posting on Reddit: "Ermmmm that's not Richie. Just watched today's episode. And Martin goes to Phil to ask for his 'solicitor' only for two people not called Richie to show up to defend Reiss and Sonia.
"I know it's minor but I can't be the only one who wishes Richie was a regular character."
Another fan mentioned on social media, clearly baffled: "I thought Richie was a regular since she's been with the Mitchells since 2005," and someone else declared in disbelief: "wtf happened to Richie did Phil lose her number?"
The chatter didn't stop there, as another person asked the burning question across social media platforms: "Where's Richie?" Meanwhile, a fifth person expressed their concern with a keen observation: "Phil has sent a better soliciter for Sonia. Where is Richie - is she in Spain again?"
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
A protester who squared up to police and tried to goad them into a fight during a violent demonstration in Whitehall cried as he was jailed. Alfie Arrowsmith, a 28-year-old traffic manager, attended the 'Enough is Enough' rally in Whitehall on July 31, organised by far-right leader Danny Tommo, real name Daniel Thomas, after the spread of misinformation about the religion and immigration status of a knifeman accused of stabbing three schoolgirls in Southport on July 29.
Despite conditions being imposed by police, the crowd broke out of an agreed enclosure on Richmond Terrace, becoming 'noisier and angrier' when a man climbed a barrier and a smoke flare was thrown at Downing Street. While some protesters were moved back to the enclosure, others stayed in Parliament Square in breach of the conditions, amassing near the statue of Winston Churchill.
Police then decided to identify and arrest those still in breach of conditions, with missiles, including glass bottles and cans, being thrown at them, forcing them to put on riot gear and helmets. Mr McKinley said there was 'organised chanting', including 'Who the f**k is Allah' and 'You're not English anymore', with spitting, swearing and abuse directed towards police officers.

Arrowsmith, of Maiden Lane in Crayford, Bexley, could be seen 'walking up against' the police cordon and 'pushing against' police lines. "He is also identified as taunting police officers by saying 'Come on then' and 'Let's have it'," said Mr McKinley who then suggested this was to goad baton-wielding officers into a fight.
Footage played to the court showed Arrowsmith in a pink shirt and black cap squaring up to the police line, using his hands to make taunting gestures at officers. MyLondon made an application for the footage to be shown in open court, after technical issues nearly led the judge to view it in private, out of view of reporters and the defendant's family.
Arrowsmith was arrested at his home on Friday, August 16, and gave a full comment interview. Under questioning, he admitted he was there and owned up to his actions, but claimed he was trying to get away from the protest, after being 'kettled', and that was why he approached the police line.

Mr McKinley argued Arrowsmith 'participated in an incident that involved widespread acts of violence', which aggravated the offence. The protest left five officers with minor injuries, and police were forced to put on more protective clothing to shield them from missiles.
Arrowsmith was working at the Ritz on the day of the protest, then went to Green Park to have a drink with friends. His barrister, Stephen Nelson, said his client 'believed he was joining a peaceful protest', but had become trapped behind the police line when it became violent.
Calling for a suspended sentence, Mr Nelson outlined Arrowsmith's primary caring obligations to his mum, who attended court in a wheelchair, and argued his client's involvement in the disorder was 'somewhat limited'.
"He does not throw missiles or any objects, at his maximum it is him using his flailing arms at the police cordon and shouting at the police in the way it is described," said Mr Nelson.
'Tensions were running high'

Judge Vanessa Baraitser said the offences took place 'during an alarming period of disorder and widespread lawlessness' at a time 'tensions were running high across the country and there were fears of further disorder'.
"It's quite clear from what you can see in that footage you walked repeatedly to police lines and squared up to police to the extent officers needed to push you backwards. You were heard to say 'do it, come on, let's do it'," said the judge, adding: "You deliberately joined in with this disorder, goaded police, and provided comfort and encouragement for those around you to do the same."
Arrowsmith cried as he was jailed for 16 months, a sentence which Judge Baraitser said could not be suspended 'to deter others'. Arrowsmith said 'Thank you very much' and blew kisses to his mother and girlfriend as he left the court.

A Met cop would have been sacked if still serving after making racist and sexist remarks. The officer - referred to solely as ‘Mr T’ during his misconduct hearing - served at Little Ilford police station.
The panel found that Mr T’s behaviour amounted to gross misconduct after using the P-word as “banter”. It heard that on August 11, 2022, Mr T had said the word ‘Pakistani’ but added a long pause halfway through the word for comedic effect.
The remark was made in front of two Met officers who were of Pakistani heritage, in an area with a strong Pakistani community. Mr T tried to wriggle off the accusation by saying he just so happened to take a breath while saying the word.
But the panel rejected this, adding that it would be a “very odd” place to take a breath. Mr T was also found to make coarse, sexist comments about a local councillor, referred to as Ms B.
Mr T said that “she fancies a bit of him”, that “she likes uniform,” and made remarks of a sexual nature. He also described the councillor as being “fit” and added that “she wasn’t bad”.
The panel report read: “In the light of the severity of the gross misconduct found the panel considered that had Mr T still been a serving member of the police service, the appropriate and proportionate sanction in this case would have been dismissal without notice.
It continued: “A final written warning would be totally inappropriate and disproportionate in the light of the seriousness of the allegations found proved in respect of Mr T and harm caused to the reputation of the Metropolitan Police Service as a whole and the public confidence in it.”
