Birds Eye issues urgent recall warning over popular frozen item
An urgent recall has been made by Birds Eye over allergy concerns. The recall concerns a batch of Goodfella's Stonebaked Thin Garlic Bread, sold at Co-op , due to undeclared milk. The mislabelled package contains cheese garlic bread not mentioned on the label, which could pose a health risk for those with milk allergies. The Food Standards Agency notice stated: "The garlic bread has been mispacked with a garlic bread that contains cheese. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents." While most children outgrow cow's milk allergies, which affect 2-3 per cent of babies, it can cause severe reactions, including potentially life-threatening anaphylaxis for some individuals.
