London wrestlers Pretty Deadly to take centre stage as WWE brings supershow Money in the Bank to the capital

WWE's Money in the Bank is coming to London's O2 Arena this weekend. But two home town wrestlers will be taking part in front of family and friends having left for the US just 18 months ago to follow their dreams.

Elton Prince and Kit Wilson are a tag team known in WWE as Pretty Deadly and made their debut with the wrestling debut in the US around 18 months ago and are set to appear in the brand's biggest UK show alongside established stars like Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor.

While technically known as 'heel' or bad guy characters, Pretty Deadly's flamboyant outfits, hilarious skits and catchphrase of 'yes boy!' have won over crowds in the US and on television, seeing them cheered as often as they are booed.

Their first appearance this weekend will be tonight when they take on Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at Friday Night Smackdown, also at The O2, and is set to see them given a warm welcome not just by friends and family but also fans who've fallen in love with their antics.

The pair, real names Lewis Howley and Sam Stoker, grew up around London, with Howley coming from Thurrock and Stoker more central.

Speaking exclusively to MyLondon this morning the pair described their triumphant return to the UK as a 'dream come true'.

"I'm buzzing, I'm excited. I'm all the words, all of them," said an excited Prince. "Really happy, ecstatic, joyful. It's going to be amazing."

Having built such success in such a short space of time isn't something the pair is taking for granted.

"We're very happy and proud of the body of work we've made so far," Wilson added. "There's definitely some nerves involved but we feel pretty confident with what we do. Even if people aren't aware of us, our act is very engaging and fun and that means we can make a connection with the crowd.

"A lot of people talk about they want a reaction. We live in a world of bad guys and good guys and technically maybe we're bad guys but we want a reaction. If you want to cheer us we're okay with that. We often get boos but as long as we're getting a reaction, we're happy."

Bad guys or not, it feels inevitable that, bad guys or not, the pair will receive a warm welcome in Greenwich when they step out into the ring.

Prince agrees: "We've got a lot of friends and family coming for Money in the Bank and it's gonna be a good day."

Fans unable to get to The O2 to see Smackdown or Money in the Bank this weekend will be able to watch both events live on UK TV via BT Sport, the current home for WWE in the UK. The service is available with a no contract monthly sport pass here or alternatively as part of Sky bundles for new TV contracts here.

As one of WWE's 'big five' annual events Money in the Bank will be subject to an additional charge on BT Sport Box Office while Smackdown will be included in existing subscriptions.

Money in the Bank is also be available to watch on the WWE Network.

With Utopia women's clothing shop ceasing trading in the former GAME unit next door, Mountain Warehouse wanted to expand and trade from the combined ground floor.

EastEnders confirms major character is returning to Walford for 'unfinished business'

Ex-EastEnders star Angela Wynter will be returning to the BBC One show for Patrick Trueman's homecoming.

Angela will be reprising her role as Patrick's former wife Yolande Trueman this summer, after previously starring in the soap as a regular between 2003 and 2008. Patrick (Rudolph Walker) is set to reappear in Albert Square next week, following his temporary exit in March in hopes of finding Yolande and rekindling their romance.

Taking to social media on Friday, June 30, EastEnders confirmed Yolande's return as the show's executive producer also said he was 'thrilled' at the character's comeback.

Sharing a photo of Patrick and Yolande reunited, EastEnders wrote: "It’s been almost six years since she last stepped foot in Albert Square but Yolande Trueman is on her way back to Walford, as Angela Wynter has reprised her role.

"Yolande’s character remains connected to Walford having first landed on our screens in 2003 as Patrick’s love interest before later becoming his wife. Over her five years in Albert Square, Yolande quickly cemented herself as a fan favourite but her time in Walford, and her marriage to Patrick, was not smooth having feuded with Pat Evans once it was revealed that she and Patrick had an affair.

"However, it was a job offer she couldn’t refuse that led to Yolande leaving but, Patrick changed his mind at the last minute, choosing Albert Square over his wife and the pair later divorced in 2009.

"Having briefly reprised her role in 2017, Yolande is heading back to Walford to reunite with ex-husband Patrick who went searching for her at the start of the year, but viewers will have to wait and see if it’s a happily ever after for the couple…"

On returning to EastEnders, Angela Wynter said: “Yolande is back in The Square! I have been really looking forward to playing her again and have had a beautiful time on set so far. I can’t thank the cast and crew enough for the warm welcome back!”

Chris Clenshaw, Executive Producer added: “I’m thrilled to welcome the immensely talented Angela back to the role of Yolande Trueman. Although we haven’t seen Yolande for some years, her departure from The Square and the breakdown of her marriage to Walford’s living legend, Patrick, left some unfinished business between the pair."

He added: "We, therefore, thought it was important to explore a reunion between the two. We couldn’t be more thrilled to have her back!”

Spruce up for closed Paperchase shop in Hereford Old Market

Paperchase closed its store in March after the company went into administration. 

Administrators were appointed on January 21 after the stationary firm failed to secure any buyers for the business.

School of the month: fun and learning at Pencombe Primary

All the pupils at Pencombe C.E Primary School celebrate after being announced Hereford Times School of the Month.

The school has just four classes – Cherry, Birch, Willow and Oak – enabling the school to offer unique experiences for every child.

As well as a creative, inspiring and motivating curriculum which excites and enthuses the children, the school has superb outdoor learning environments, including a sports field, outdoor areas that are used to extend and enhance the high quality learning that goes on inside the school.

In its own words, the school says: "At Pencombe CE Primary we believe in entitlement and the right for everyone to be valued and respected for who they are.

ACTIVITIES

There is always something stimulating, interesting or exciting happening at Pencombe. Recently, Birch and Cherry class had a visit from Hidden Herefordshire. Tim is an expert in all things bugs and insects. The children went on a big hunt in our forest school area to help find the hidden creatures of Herefordshire. We are very fortunate not only to have our own forest school, but also the use of a local coppice which enables children to be involved in Forest School activities on a weekly basis.

Earlier in the year, the Year 6 children attended a residential at Oaker Wood where leadership and team building skills were encouraged. The children also showcased their dance moves as part of the Moving Targets Project at The Courtyard in Hereford.

The school was involved in all the fun of the Bromyard Scarecrow Festival and had the best time, parading the school's entry – Goldilocks and the Three Bears, around the streets of Bromyard!

Great fun is also had competing in inter school sports!

Tom Hanks' niece throws an epic tantrum after her identity is revealed on unhinged new reality show

A video clip of a US reality TV show featuring celebrity relationships has gone viral after Tom Hanks’ niece exploded after being eliminated in week one.

Claim To Fame, hosted by musician Kevin Jonas and his younger brother Frankie, sees a collection of unknown celeb relatives are moved into a house and have to deduce who they are related to.

Every episode, the contestants participate in challenges, where the winner is granted immunity for the round and a bonus clue about another contestant. At the end of the episode, the contestants secretly vote between the two lowest-ranked performers in the competition to be the round's 'guesser'.

Ultimately the guesser will then choose any other non-immune contestant and announce which celebrity they think the other contestant is related to. If the guesser is correct, the other contestant will be eliminated; if the guesser is wrong, the guesser will be eliminated instead. The overall winner takes homer $100,000 (£78,690.59).

Songwriter and podcaster Rob Milton shared a clip of the show’s first episode ending, where contestant Hugo correctly identified Carly’s relative. It showed Tom Hank’s niece crying as she stormed off into the house.

Carly then proceeded to shriek from inside the house, heard by all of the other contestants, yelling: “The clues were so fricking obvious! Fricking bench and the fricking poster of fricking Forrest Gump, are you kidding me!?”

As she entered the bedroom, she wailed: “Why a bench? Why a bench? There’s literally no reference to benches on any other movie. Even Gabriel found that out, he’s not even, like, smart.”

Carly continued to pack up her suitcase, rummaging through the walk-in closet. “I don’t deserve this!” she cried. “I should have more camera time, I should be here longer.”

Rob’s clip has been viewed over a whopping 13.4million times, racking up 1,945 Retweets, 2,727 Quote Tweets and over 26,800 likes. Viewers were shocked at Carly’s reaction, claiming the contestants made the right choice to send her home.

One person said: “Lmfooooooo they absolutely made the right choice cause girl gon on wit all that.”

Another wrote: “I want an entire show of just her with a hot mic walking through life. At the grocery store, the DMV, Wal-Mart.”

A third commented, “I bet Tom Hanks’s cookouts be wild whenever his niece come over,” while a fourth replied, “Why is Tom Hanks' family like this? Collin is the only good seed”.

However, some believed Carly was right to be annoyed, saying: “She’s right there is no chance he could have known this, this early. The producers told him who she was. They must have had an idea she would react this way.”

Carly is the daughter of Tom Hanks' wife Rita Wilson's sister, making her his niece through marriage.

Victoria Beckham’s latest photos on Instagram have left her followers dazzled as she posed alongside Desperate Housewives legend, Eva Longoria, in Paris.

The fashion designer cuddled up with the iconic actress in a famous Parisian bistro, Allard, which is labelled one of ‘the last great bistros’ in the French capital. Victoria’s husband David, 48, was also with the group.

Victoria shared a series of group photos, the first showing herself smiling with Eva and model Isabela Grutman, 31, before sharing a group shot of themselves outside the restaurant. She captioned the post: “Une nuit à Paris,” completed with a French flag emoji.

The group were visiting the French restaurant, Allard, which is a wonderfully traditional Parisian bistro located in Saint Germain des Prés. They serve up a wide variety of different platters, with starters such as snails (24 euros) and traditional frogs legs (32 euros).

They also have plenty of main dishes such as hand-chopped beef tartare (34 euros) and peppered beef tenderloin (50 euros). They offer a selection of sides and desserts including chocolate profiteroles (14 euros) and French cheese (14 euros).

One person left a glowing review on Google saying: “Dinner at Allard, one of the last, great French bistros of the 1930’s and 40’s.

“A very relaxed atmosphere where the original decor is meticulously preserved and the menu reflects authentic fare with seasonal updates. Transported back in time. Found Charlie Chaplin’s signature!”

Pensioner enters guilty plea after Herefordshire offence

Thomas Wheatstone entered a guilty plea to one count of driving a vehicle on a road or public place without due care and attention to magistrates in Worcester in June.

The court heard from prosecutor Andrew Saunders that the 78-year-old had driven a Ford Galaxy without due care and attention on the busy A465 at Wormbridge in Hereford on September 15 last year.

Wheatstone, of Railway Terrace, Sebastopol, Pontypool, was fined £80 and received five penalty points on his licence for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when deciding on the penalty.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £110 and a £32 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.

Ofsted finds improvements at Herefordshire primary school

A PRIMARY school in Herefordshire has improved since its last inspection, with an ‘outstanding’ rating for personal development of its pupils and an overall grade of ‘good’.

Gorsley Goffs Primary School has maintained its 'good' Ofsted rating since its last full inspection in 2013 but has improved when it comes to pupils’ achievements, a recently published report said.

It also received an 'outstanding' rating for early years provision, with inspectors saying "children in Reception prosper from the day they join".

The report said: “Pupils flourish at this caring and friendly school. They are courteous and welcoming to visitors. Pupils are happy at school, and this is reflected in the school’s high attendance.

“As early as reception, children are taught about healthy relationships, growing up, healthy eating and British values. Pupils receive a wide, rich set of experiences. All pupils benefit from these, including those with special educational needs and disabilities. Pupils learn about different religions and different types of families. They treat everyone with respect.”

To improve from an overall ‘good’ grade to become ‘outstanding’, the inspector said that teachers must constantly check that all students have closed gaps in their knowledge.

"Leaders should ensure that children use assessments effectively to help pupils embed and use knowledge fluently, and to check their understanding to inform teaching. Leaders also need to make the curriculum more accessible to children with special educational needs and disabilities."

Hunt for missing heirloom after accidental donation

Inadvertently, we gave a small footstool to St Michael’s Hospice shop in Leominster. The top is brown leather and the feet and decorative sides are painted black, although marked and chipped in places.
