Red Arrows to perform display in London commuter town for free event and there's a direct train
The famous Red Arrows are performing at an event for free in a London commuter town and there is even a direct train to get there from London.
The Red Arrows wowed crowds over the weekend who got to see them during the Trooping the Colour event around Buckingham Palace. They did a flypast for the King to celebrate the event and flew across the capital to do it.
Those who were unlucky now have another chance to see the amazing plane display at Armed Forces Day in Folkestone, Kent, on June 30, 2024. The event is described on the Armed Forces Day website as a "free family day out with recognition of Service Personnel, Veterans and Cadets past, present and future the prime focus"
The event will feature air displays from various RAF assets including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (Lancaster & Spitfire) and Chinook Display Team. There will also be the Red Arrows and Typhoon display team flight simulators.
Included are also displays and stands including military benevolent organisations, military static aircraft and vehicle displays, Great War Trench Experience, a funfair, a Classic Car Show, the Battle of Britain and weapon display stand, cadet’s laser-shooting tents, face painting and more.
The free event is a great day out and takes place at The Leas in Folkstone, expected to attract around 50,000 visitors. It starts at 10am and finishes at 5.30pm with the funfair being open until 8pm.
