Prince William, the Princess of Wales and their three children have arrived at Westminster Abbey for the start of the King’s coronation. Kate Middleton was spotted arriving with Prince William, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis ahead of the important ceremony which will see their grandfather crowned.
Meanwhile Prince George arrived moments earlier, as he had a big part to play in the ceremony as one of King Charles' pages. During an appearance at a pub in Soho in London's West End on Thursday, the Princess of Wales said her eldest son is “excited” for the ceremony and is now a “bit more relaxed” for the big day.
Prince George, along with his fellow pages, wore a smart red military jacket as he stood behind King Charles as he entered Westminster Abbey. Moments later, the rest of his family arrived, with Prince Louis spotted waving to the camera while Princess Charlotte followed her parents into Westminster Abbey.
Prince George, who is second-in-line to the throne, had been taking part in rehearsals for the ceremony at Westminster Abbey as he prepared for his role as a Page of Honour. When asked if he was looking forward to it, the Princess replied: “He is actually. Having done a few rehearsals, I think everyone is a bit more relaxed.”
Meanwhile, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, are due to attend the ceremony but won’t have an official role to play. They are due to take part in the carriage procession back to Buckingham Palace, with King Charles and Queen Camilla followed by three other carriages containing working members of the Royal Family.
The return procession has been described as a “glorious display of pageantry” by the Earl Marshal, with 4,000 members of the Armed Forces due to take part. Royal fans will be able to catch a glimpse of the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children along the route.
