

Around 40 firefighters have been battling a house fire in Putney for two hours this afternoon (Friday, June 13). A three-storey mid-terraced property on Chelverton Road is up in flames, with part of the first and second floors still alight.
London Fire Brigade was called just after 3pm and scrambled six fire engines from across Chelsea, Richmond, Kensington, Tooting, Wandsworth and Soho to the residential road. They remain on scene as of 5pm.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, according to a statement released by London Fire Brigade.
