Latest London weather forecast as Met Office warns of 9 hours of rain in a row

A new yellow weather warning has been issued by the Met Office as nine hours of rain in a row is forecast for London from 4pm on Thursday (January 4) through to gone midnight on Friday (January 5). The warning covering London claims that another spell of rain is due to fall which could lead to further flooding and travel disruption.

This new weather warning is in place from 12pm on Thursday to 3am on Friday (January 5). According to the Met Office: "A spell of rain is expected to move northeast across southern and eastern parts of England on Thursday, clearing during Thursday night.

"The track of the heaviest rainfall remains very uncertain, but there is a chance of 20-30 mm falling in 6-9 hours across a portion of the warning area, with a few places perhaps seeing 40-50 mm." Because of the previous severe weather in the region it is more likely this rain will cause a larger impact.
