Ex-Boots employee says 'don't underestimate' £44 beauty advent calendar with Liz Earle and No7 in first-look review

Ex-Boots employee says 'don't underestimate' £44 beauty advent calendar with Liz Earle and No7 in first-look review

December is less than a month away, and if you're planning on getting a beauty advent calendar, the Macmillan 24 Doors of Joy might just be what you're looking for. Discounted for Black Friday, the Boosts' best seller has had £46 off its original price.

The Christmas countdown is now £44 - reduced from £90 - and gives shopper £175 worth of products. It is packed with 24 products, some of which are full sized.

The festive haul can be bought online or in store and is filled with items from popular brands such as Liz Earle and Ted Baker. Ex-Boots employee Bethan Shufflebotham has given her opinion on all the brands included in the calendar in our sister-site The Mirror.

Liz Earle products are one of the highlights of the calendar, according to Bethan. The latter features features a travel sized version of the iconic Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, worth £8, as well as a pure cotton cloth, which are not only perfect for travelling and weekends away, but also offer those discovering the brand a chance to trial the cleanser before committing to a full size.

No7 products are another highlight of the Macmillan 24 Doors of Joy, whose largest portion is dedicated to the brand. The Christmas countdown has eight full sized and miniature products, including the Beautiful Skin Revitalising Hand Polish which feels a bit too similar to the Soap and Glory Hand Food - meaning the calendar contains two similar hand creams -, but the Skin Softening Foot Scrub and Protect and Perfect Lip Care are a great addition.

Makeup wise, the Lift & Luminate Triple Action Primer, worth just under £18, is ideal for keeping all those festive holiday looks in place. Skincare hasn’t been neglected either, with a No7 Protect & Perfect Intense ADVANCED day and night cream duo.

And "don’t underestimate" some of the more affordable beauty buys included in the festive haul. One of the drugstore products you get is the the very well-pigmented Sleek i-Divine Palette Royal Flush, which is a good alternative to the viral Naked Heat palette from Urban Decay.
