James Clark entered a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the alcohol limit when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster in June after previously entering a not guilty plea to the charge at an earlier hearing.

The court heard from prosecutor Mark Hambling that the 21-year-old had driven a silver Vauxhall Astra in Ledbury's Leadon Way while over the drink-driving limit on November 13.

An evidential breath test revealed he had 64 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal driving limit is 35 microgrammes.

Clark, of Saxon Way, Ledbury, was fined £500 and disqualified from driving for 18 months for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when imposing the penalty.

He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £625 and a £100 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
