Dogs are now welcome at this Herefordshire shopping centre

LABELS, a shopping centre in Ross-on-Wye, is now dog friendly with pooches being allowed to go into the store with their owners.

Labels previously had a dedicated “doggy zone” in its foyer, but not many customers chose to use it, instead leaving their four-legged friends in hot cars outside.

“We noticed an increasing number in the car park, locked in cars or sat on the benches outside. As dog lovers ourselves, we needed to do something because leaving dogs in cars is simply not safe, especially in heat. Following discussions with all our partners and tenants we agreed we needed to welcome dogs in store - so there is no excuse for them to be left in cars. Labels as a business seeks to constantly evolve and progress to be a destination our visitors want. So far this has been well received and has worked well,” said Ailsa Jones, brand development and marketing manager at Labels.

Now, owners can bring their dogs past the foyer and into most parts of the store.

The shopping centre’s website says that some of the shops on the lower floor do not allow dogs inside, and there are signs indicating this at the shop entrances. Dog owners visiting Labels should keep an eye out for signs, and make sure they clean up any mess from their pets.
